A&D Wines- a Family-Run Winery Located in the Region of Baiao

A&D Wines is located in the region of Baiao and has a rich family history and culture spanning several generations. Alexandre Gomes inherited an excellent relationship with the land, people, and activities of the region. After having vineyards and commitment to winemaking, he opened the A&D Wines with his wife, Dialina. They use their homegrown grapes to make wines with great character and personality that reflect the features of their terroir. They export their wines to many nations, including the UK, Ireland, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Sweden, USA, and Canada.

There is no use of chemical fertilizers or pesticides, and they try to preserve as much water as possible at A&D Wines.

The Winery Uses Organic and Sustainable Methods

The vineyards of A&D Wines are located in some of Baiao’s best regions, such as Casa do Arrabalde, Quinta de Santa, and Quinta dos Espinhosos. The climate, rainfall, and soil are perfect here for the cultivation of high-quality grapes. The workers use organic and sustainable methods to maintain nature and protect their vines for future use. There is no use of chemical fertilizers or pesticides, and they try to preserve as much water as possible.

Main Types of Grapes that Grow

The main types of grapes grown at A&D Wines are Avesso, Arinto, Malvasia Fina, Chardonnay, Alvarinho, Touriga Nacional, Vinhão, and Sauvignon Blanc. The best grapes go into the production of their high-quality red and white wines. From the handpicking of grapes until the bottling of wine, the winemakers take special care to keep the best conditions possible and use the best processes and equipment. There is minimal intervention in the production process that gives a fresh taste and bouquet of aromas to the wines.
