The Bodegas Ramirez de la Piscina is present in Sonsierra of the beautiful La Rioja region. This region has an Atlantic Mediterranean climate along with alluvial and limestone soil perfect for producing grapes. The appropriate location and traditional ecological methods give the high quality to their wines.
In 1945, Julio Ramírez de la Piscina started cultivating the family vineyards and produced the traditional Rioja wine. 1973 was the founding year of the Bodegas Ramirez. Julio’s children, Julio, Cecilio and Pilar took over the winery in 1980. In 1987, the name, Bodegas Ramirez de la Piscina was given to the coveted wine. The winery in its current state was set up in 2001 and has modern features and uses the latest technologies to produce the best wine. It started in Spain, but now it also operates in international markets, including the USA, UK, Japan, etc.
The owners cultivate a variety of grapes, including Tempranillo, Viura, Malvasia, and Garnacha. The region has perfect soil, which is surrounded by the Sierra de Cantabria. The workers manually select the grapes and sort the best ones out. Proper fermentation process and ageing in oak barrels provide exceptional taste to the wine. It is essential to preserve the fragrance and complexion of the wines. They produce red, white, and rose wine of the best quality using the best possible methods and process. Their most sold wines are the Young, Crianza and the Reserva. Each has its own special characteristics.
