Bodegas Valencioso has been present in the La Rioja region for twenty-eight years. In 1998, the owners joined the surnames Enciso and Valentin and set up the winery. The winery follows sustainable methods that preserve the environment and produce high-quality wines. Located in Ollauri, four kilometers from Haro in the northern part of Rioja, the area is known for its winemaking since ancient times. It has many award-winning wines and is the only winery that uses concrete tanks for fermentation. The region has an Atlantic climate with low heat during the summer. The soil is clayey and has an inferior quality limestone that is perfect for vine cultivation. The gate of the winery is a Juanjo Novella structure based on the veins of a vine leaf. Famous architect Alfonso Samaniego is the man behind the winery building. The winery is built using traditional material but still has all the modern features and an ample amount of space. They make use of French oak barrels for ageing the wine. French oak provides a pleasant taste and fragrance, along with giving a lovely complexion and longevity to the wine. The main variety of grape that grows here is the Tempranillo that goes into making the famous red, white, and rose wines of the La Rioja region. The winery combines traditional values with hard work and dedication to produce wines that show the uniqueness of the Rioja region along with the hard work of the winemakers.
