The Giró del Gorner Winery located in the heart of Penedes near Barcelona, is surrounded by breathtaking landscapes and vineyards, stretched alongside the farmhouse in all directions. Visitors will not only enjoy the medieval architecture of the farmstead but also discover the history of the typical Catalan community.
The history of Giró del Gorner Winery is centuries old, dating back to 1887.
The history of Giró del Gorner is centuries old, dating back to 1887. Today, Gabriel Giró I Via, Jr, the current owner of the winery, works on ancient family-owned vineyards with complete dedication, preserving the family legacy. The grape cultivation area was replanted and restored by his great-grandfather during Civil War times. Now the same land is responsible for the production of award-winning wines from the region. The company produces high-end red and white wines, in combination with classic rosé wines. Gabriel also delivers delightful Cava, made from grapes from their family-owned vineyards, all under both the DO Cava, DO Penedès labels.
Gabriel uses old family traditions along with binomial innovation throughout all the phases of wine production. Expanding over an area of 48 hectares, the vineyards are divided into 29 plots, each with a different name. Gabriel cultivates a wide array of grapes in his vineyards at Giró del Gorner, including high-quality Chardonnay,, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, and Merlot.
With time, the old wine cellar has undergone various modern changes. The old cement tanks have been replaced with large stainless steel tanks, equipped with automatic temperature-controlling features. Initially, wooden presses were used, which have been reinstated with advanced pressing methods. For the maturation and refining phases of wines, the owner uses various sizes of French and American wooden oak barrels.
We already have the certificate of organic producer in the vineyards and wines from the 2020 harvest will be organic.
Now we also have a wine and cava bar where you can taste the wines and have a snack.

We did a tour and tasting. The grounds are stunning, the tour was incredibly insightful and exciting for wine-o's like us. Our guide was so kind and funny, it was truly a blast. Cannot recommend enough. And I haven't even mentioned the wines. The Cava was exceptional. Totally blew us away and had to bring a bottle home!
