Rioafavara, a family-run winery, is present in the Val di Noto region of South-east Sicily. It is one of the best wine-producing areas in Sicily. Since 1920, a lot of changes have been made to the winery. A combination of history and local tradition with the latest wine-making techniques and machines has made it a modern and high-production winery. The winemakers use biodynamic and organic farming in almost all processes in the cellar and their vineyards. The region is perfect for vine cultivation, and their famous red ones express the qualities of their terroir. The area has moderate warm weather with fast winds from the East and the West. The region in the Southernmost part of Sicily, across the Siracusa and Ragusa provinces, is very near to the sea, and the calcareous soil is perfect for the growth of grapes.
The main philosophy of the winery is to attract customers and make them fall in love with their Sicilian wines. The winemakers concentrate and take a lot of care in their cultivation processes and the quality of grapes. It was important for the owners to reap the benefits from the gifted land. Recently, the winery started total organic production and produces eco-friendly products and natural wines. The main varieties of grapes that grow here are the Moscato and Nero d’Avola. The grapes help in the production of their famous red wines. The best thing about them is that their wines represent the Genuine taste of Sicily.
