Bodegas Tobelos – Established in the Late Twentieth Century

Bodegas Tobelos was establlished in the late twentieth century by Ricardo Reinoso. His experience and knowledge in the wine industry has helped to shape the positive trajectory of the winery. Bodegas Tobelos Winery is a modern winery with traditional aesthetics in a reputable winegrowing region, La Rioja, two kilometers away from Haro. Their main aim is to produce a limited quantity of high-quality wines so that the customers are satisfied. Located on top of a hill, the winery overlooks the Ebro River and Sierra Cantabria. From the top of the hill at the winery, you can see stunning views of Penas de Biliblio and Conchas de Haro.

The best grapes at Bodegas Tobelos are manually harvested and transported to the winery in 20-kilogram boxes for gentle processing.
Twenty Year-Old Vineyards at Bodegas Tobelos

The vineyards are nearly twenty years old, located in the region of Sonsieera. Another vineyard, Mocotero, is spread around the winery facility. The correct process of harvesting of the grapes is the most critical step in winemaking. Ensuring good quality depends highly on how the winery harvests, keeping grape skins intact until processing should begin. Traditional and modern ecological processes are used at Bodegas Tobelos to preserve the environment and maintain quality. The workers handpick the best grapes and send them to the winery in 20-kilogram boxes. Stainless steel cone tanks are also used to carry out the alcoholic fermentation followed by malolactic fermentation.

Two Years in French and European Oak Barrels

Almost eight hundred French and European oak barrels are employed for the aging of the wines at Bodegas Tobelos to give the right taste and aroma for nearly two years. You will not find the Tobelas wines in the supermarkets, only in select restaurants and the winery. The variety of grapes grown include Tempranillo, Garnacha Blanca, Garnacha, and Viura to make their top quality red and white wines.
