Bodega Cerro Chapeu’s history goes back to 1752 Bodega Cerro Chapeu carries on the tradition of the family that began winemaking ten generations ago through Francisco Carrau Vehilis in Catalonia in 1752. The winery is located around 12 Km. east of Rivera-Santana do Livramento on the border between Brazil and Uruguay. It is a gravity-fed winery built inside a hill, aiming for low-input winemaking by using the stone of the same hill for cellar construction. Since 1997 the winery has been using unique oenological techniques for making unique wines.
