By Air

To enjoy wine tours in Greece, a number of airports are in your service in each city or each island.

1. Athens Airport (ATH) provides international flights in the capital city, to enjoy the wine tours in Greece.

2. To visit wine tours in Greece on Crete Island, you should fly to the Heraklion Airport (HER) or Chania International Airport (CHQ).

3. In the Macedonia wine region, better to fly into the Thessaloniki International Airport (SKG).

4. To visit the wine tours on the Ionian Islands, better to fly into Corfu Airport (CFU) or Zakynthos Airport (ZTH).

5. Fly into Santorini (Thira) (JTR) Airport to enjoy the wineries on the beautiful Santorini island. Santorini airport is closest to travel on the Aegean islands too.

By Car

Wine tours in Greece are easily accessed by car. Mainland Greece is connected by the international and local roads.

In the Thrace wine region, the international highways as E85, E90, and highway 2 will take you straight to the wineries.

E90 goes through the Macedonia wine region too and can be joined by the highways E86 and E75.

Following the E90 highway, you can travel in the Thessaly and Epirus wine regions and experience some of the best wine tastings and tours in Greece.

The Central Greece region is connected by the international roads numbered as: E65, E952, or E75. The same roads connect the Central Greece to the rest of the country.

Road 8 will take you from Athens to Kiato, in the Peloponnese wine region. From there by the highways E65 and E55 most of the region can be covered.

Wineries in Crete can be reached by highways E75 and 90.

By Train

The train system in Greece is not the best and covers a very limited area of the country.

However, to visit enjoy some wine tastings and tours in Greece, near Athens, the Macedonia wine region, the Thessaly wine region, or the Peloponnese wine region, the local railway system might be useful.

There are 2 main lines that connect Athens to Thessaloniki (through Thessaly), and Athens to Kiato.

You can purchase the tickets via Omio or Eurail.

Peloponnesus day trip Took a day away from Athens and what a great idea. First stop was Giannicos in Korinthia. Micheal, the owner met us and gave our family of five a great experience. Loved the wine and bought some for the trip. Went on to stay in Napflio which is a precious little town. Highly recommended

An intimate and refined tasting We had the pleasure of getting to know the owner of the winery. He was the perfect host and told us about everything about the winery, the vineyard and the process of the wines. After the first our we where able to taste the white and red wines together with some lovely selected foods and great company of the owner and his friend.
