How to Reach Wineries in USA

Wineries in USA are easily accessible by different means of transportation.

By Air

The country has a wide land area, but below you can find some major cities that are surrounded by some best wineries in the USA.

To cover the mileage from San Diego to Los Angeles, a 50-minute flight will take you from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to San Diego Airport (SAN).

San Diego and San Francisco are connected by the International Airports and the flight will take about 9 hours, and numerous flights operated by: Skywest Airlines, American Eagle, Frontier, and many more.

San Francisco Airport (SFO) and Portland Airport (PDX), are connected by numerous flights on a daily basis, and the flight usually takes up to 2 hours in between those 2 cities.

To enjoy the best USA wineries in Washington state, Seattle-Tacoma Airport (SEA), has many domestic and international flights.

On the Atlantic Oceanside, many more gorgeous USA wineries can be found. Fly into Boston Logan Airport (BOS), or the Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York.

By Car

From San Diego to Oregon, California has a well-developed highway system. However, if driving is a hassle for you, due to the neverending traffic jams, there is a bus from San Diego to Los Angeles and costs 15 dollars only. The bus is operated by the Greyhound Lines.

Highway 5, will take you all the way from San Diego to Oregon, through Fresno and Sacramento.

Highway 99 covers almost the same route too. If you prefer to have the Pacific Ocean view along your drive from San Diego to Oregon, we recommend using Highway 1. However, Highway 101, also partly goes along the Ocean. With those highways, you can go through San Francisco, San Jose, and LA too.

Most of the wineries of California are concentrated near San Francisco and Sacramento. I-80-E, and I-5-S roads are mainly used to cover those destinations.

To enjoy the USA wineries in Washington state, highway 90 and 82 will assist you to cover most of the area.

Many wineries in the USA are situated on the opposite part - along the Atlantic Ocean. Boston, New York, Philadephia, Baltimore, and Washington can be visited through highway 95. 

By Train

Amtrak Pacific Surfliner provides a train ride from San Diego to Los Angeles, with a stop in Anaheim. And a little tip: If you choose a seat on the west side of the train, you can enjoy the spectacular ocean view and the golden, sandy beach.

To enjoy the best wineries in the USA, take a train in between the big cities, for example, from San Diego to San Francisco, the Amtrak Pacific Surflner operates a train, that takes about 15 hours and the cost varies around 90 dollars.

The Acela high-speed train has multiple departures a day, from Boston to Washington. The train goes all the way through New Haven, New York, Philadelphia, and Wilmington in just 7 hours.
