Explore a True Artisan Wines From Moncucco hills

Making Wines Since the 1936

Anna Maria Abbonaoncucco is a boutique winery established by Giuseppe and his son Angelo in 1936. The winery underwent expansion under the third generation, Giuseppe, with more lands and more grape varietals. The winery took a significant turn with the involvement of the fourth generation along with her husband Franco who was also from a winemaking family. Leaving their jobs abroad, the couple decided to take care of the old vines in the hills of Moncucco and produce artisan wines without being compromised by market trends.

The vineyard commands and marks the rhythm, while the Abonna family tries to support and guide it without altering its personality, giving birth to unique wines that are recognized internationally.

Grapes and soil of Moncucco hills

The most cultivated grape is Dolcetto along with foreign grape varieties as Reisling Renano and Pinot Noir. The white soils and good exposures give a fascinating body and also good longevity, while the altitude of 500 to 550 meters above sea level ensures intense aromas and freshness on the palate.

Whole Family involved in the winemaking business

The couple along with their two children is constantly working in the company to give their best to produce the best wines possible. The duo continues to follow the path already traced by their parents with the introduction of new technologies and a more modern cellar. The philosophy is to maintain the right balance between structure and elegance, between body and drinkability. The elder son, Fredrico, mainly deals with sales and marketing. The younger son, Lorenzo, is passionate about the gastronomic side of the Langhe who has worked in kitchens around the world. Lorenzo handles the creation of the wines in the cellar.
