Bodega F. Schatz – Family-Owned Winery located in Lovely Andalusia

Nestled among the beautiful mountains, Bodega F. Schatz Winery is located in the winegrowing region of Serrania de Ronda in Andalusia. Initially living in Southern Tyrol in Italy then moving to the south of Germany, in Korb, the Schatz Family has been producing top-class wines since 1641.

Friedrich Schatz, the owner of the winery acquired the family winemaking business in 1982, intending to produce sophisticated wines. He replanted old vineyards, which were once cultivated by Iberians and Romans in the town of Acinipo. The owner also has introduced modern technology into the cellar, along with a thorough renovation of most winemaking rooms.

Initially living in Sud Tyrol, Italy then migrating first to southern Germany, in Korb, the Schatz Family has been producing top-class wines in several region since 1641.

Winery Producing Organic, Biodynamic, and Natural wines, Without the Addition of Sulfites

Bodega F. Schatz grows Finca Sanguijuela in a three-hectare vineyard. The Bodega is a house of high-quality vineyards, out of which six organic wines are made form nine varieties. The best is that the wines are not only organic, they are also biodynamic and natural, without added sulfites. Bodega F. Schatz grows Lemberger, Pinot Noir, Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot, along with high-quality Petit Verdot, Chardonnay, and Moscatel Negro. Using these top-class grapes, the estate produces many sophisticated wines under Sierras de Malaga DO labels. Bodega F. Schatz produces are excellent red and white wines, accompanied by bone-dry rosé wine.
 

Manually Harvested Grapes into French, Slovenian, and American Oak Barrels

  

Harvest of all Bodega F. Schatz vineyards is done 100% manually to get only the best bunches of grapes. However, in the modern cellar, the owner uses advanced methods, for crushing and pressing the grapes, followed by fermentation in open vats. For the storage and aging of wines, the estate uses French, Slovenian, and American oak barrels. After sufficient aging and refinement, the wines are bottled and ready for sale at Bodega F. Schatz.
