Collecting grapes from around 360000 to 400000 vine plants to produce Italian Wines

A Boutique Winery in Tuscany

Embraced by the unspoiled beauty of Tuscany, Castello Di Monsanto is a beautiful wine estate located in San Gimignano, with vineyards wonderfully spread over the renowned Chianti Fiorentino wine region. The estate is one of the oldest wineries in Chianti Classico, a real jewel of beauty, holding various winemaking traditions. It is famous for its flagship Sangiovese vines, grown all around the winery castle.

Winery Built in a Castle

Boasting a winemaking tradition of more than 50 years, the Bianchi family operates Castello Di Monsanto. The story began when Aldo Bianchi returned to his homeland, San Gimignano, on a wedding and left mesmerized and struck by the striking beauty of the region. A few months later, he acquired the castle and started following his Piedmontese grandmother’s viticulture traditions. He passed the same art of winemaking to his son, Fabrizio. Over the years, Fabrizio and his wife, Giuliana, have planted new vines and renovated the estate.

Gifted Terroir of Chianti Classico

The Bianchi family has a strong bond with the terroirs of Chianti Classico, where it produces blue-ribbon Sangiovese grapes in a massive amount, along with a few plots of Canaiolo, Chardonnay, and Colorino. Here, the soil fertility, along with Mistral winds and fresh microclimate, gives grapes time to get fully matured. The piercing aroma of vines keeps the environment around the vineyards fragrant, resulting in crucial biological harmony for the grapes. In the harvesting season, the production staff uses manual harvesting methods to ensure only the best bunches are selected for making wines.

Wine-lovers can discover the 300-meters long gallery that connects modern cellar with the ancient one. The stunning ridge, named after an iconic wine of the estate, the Vinsantaia, the Amphitheater, and so much more the Monsanto winery has to offer – one can only dream about it.
