A Winery with More Than 180 Years of Winemaking History
In 1838, the Miotto family settled in Veneto and started growing grapes. Passed on from father to son, the descendants of the Miottos has preserved the family’s winemaking tradition and have become one of the oldest winemakers of Conegliano-Valdobbiadene DOCG. In 1993, Francesco Miotto established the new Col Vetoraz, along with the agronomist Paolo De Bortoli and oenologist Loris Dall’Acqua. For more than 25 years, the trio has been producing rich-quality sparkling wines under certified labels.
Among the Rows of Vines, the Actual Magic Begins
Respecting the traditions and extreme care for vineyards, a meticulous methodology is followed in the vineyards, where the trio cultivates fruity Glera vines. Keeping the quality and quantity on point, the estate delivers around 2,300,000 kg of grapes every year. The aromas and organoleptic characteristics of grapes remain intact throughout the wine production cycle. In the cellar, there are separate rooms for fermentation, aging, and bottling. Old wooden barrels and barriques of diverse sizes are used for maturation and refining. The cellar has a reception room overlooking the tremendous beauty of Mother Nature, where guests can taste wines.
