Curatolo Arini dates back to 1875
Curatolo Arini is in Sicily’s famous Marsala region, and its history goes back to 1875. The history of the estate is best told by its legacy and past achievements. The newer generations have successfully worked hard to maintain the winemaking tradition started by their ancestors. Vito Curatolo set up his dream winery in the middle of vineyards in Marsala. By 1890, the company had started exporting and joined the Seagram Group in 1970 to start making table wine with their assistance.
The best vineyards of the area
Currently, Vito’s great-grandson Sergio and grandson Roberto run the estate along with the latest generation Alexandra and Riccardo Curatolo. The winery started monovarietal winemaking in the 1990s with help from Alberto Antonini to express the unique qualities and flavors of grapes grown in different terroirs of the area. Natural conditions and terroir are perfect, and vines are planted at top sites like Fulgatore, Marsala, Gagliardetta, San Cataldo, and Chirchiaro. The main grape varieties grown here include Inzolia, Grillo, Nero d’Avola, Zibibbo, Catarratto, and Nerello Mascalese.
One of the oldest and best Marsala DOC winery
Only the best grapes grown on the best terroirs are handpicked by their workers and vinified at the cellar to make their red, white, dessert, and fortified wines. Marsala wine is made from white grapes following old recipes passed on from one generation to the next. The range of wines made by them features Curatolo Arini Selection, Paccamora, Marsala Superiore, Marsala Riserva, Zibibbo Liquoroso dessert wine, and olive oil. Curatolo Arini also conducts various memorable and exciting wine tasting events for its visitors.
