Domaine AF Gros, A Family Winery
Domaine AF Gros is a farm located in Burgundy, close to Pommard, and founded by Anne-Françoise Gros. Anne-Françoise’s husband has been the winemaker the Domaine AF Gros since its creation in 1988. Their knowledge and reputation are recognized worldwide, and the wines are a perfect expression of Pinot Noir with a unique combination of elegance and depth. Two of their three children now work on the estate, Caroline and Mathias.
Winemaking at Domaine AF Gros
The wines of Domaine AF Gros are matured in French oak barrels for 12 to 18 months. They work with three coopers, and the generic wines are matured in 5000L vats, which includes 60% of production, with the remaining wines in casks. They also analyze the turbidity of the wines to filter only if it is necessary using lenticular filtration. The wines are then bottled by gravity for low mechanical intervention. The oak wood used at Domaine AF Gros during the maturation process comes mainly from the forests of Tronçais, Bertranges and Fontainebleau.
