A Winery with Excellent Diversity of Soil, Grapes Varieties, and Climate in Saint-Chinian

The Rich Terroir of Domaine La Madura

Domaine La Madura is a wine estate that lies in the Saint-Chinian appellation. The winery’s terroir has a great diversity of soils, grape varieties, altitude, and microclimates. The main soil types are schistous, clay-limestone and sandstone slopes, which helps achieving a great grape ripeness. The clay-limestone soil accumulates the heat and reflects it upward, creating a microclimate ideal for grape growing. This also brings an excellent level of ripeness in the grapes. Nadia and Cyril Bourgne left Bordeaux in 1999 to explore the potential of this area, in the hopes of creating exceptional new wines .
