Domaine Vincent Careme, Excellent Wines from the Loire Valley
Domaine Vincent Careme in the Loire Valley is situated in the heart of Vourvray. This winery is the masterpiece of a vibrant, young winemaker, Vincent Careme. Vincent and his wife, Tania, supervise the estate. The vineyards cover different blocks spread over three villages, Vouvray, Vernou-sur-Brenne, and Noizay. Almost every block is on steep slopes creating excellent wines but with true hard work. They vinify Le Clos separately as well as Le Peu Morier to express the exceptional terroir. Vincent inherited around five hectares of vines from his parents in Vouvray and purchased more vineyards to come to 37 hectares of total vineyard area. Since 2010, every wine at Domaine Vincent Careme has been certified organic by Ecocert in France.
Unique Approach to Wine Production
Domaine Vincent Caremeis is unique as he ensures that the grapes are selected strategically. The average age of the vines is around 35 years and stem from limestone, flint, and soils of clay. His primary focus is always on receiving the grapes on par with the quality that he wants and requires in his wineries. Vincent uses Chenin Blanc to produce his wines which include both sparkling and still wines. He assures the quality of the grapes by picking by hand and pressing them gently so that the natural yeast continues their work.
