Love for wine and nature at Filippo Gallino
The Filipo Gallino wine estate is a family company that’s been everpresent in the Roero winemaking scene. No one knows its exact origin, but Gallino Stefano was born in 1886, and the family grew Nebbiolo and Barbera grapes by that time. Surrounded by estate vineyards and nature, they host three beautiful donkeys, several cats, dogs, chickens, and roosters. Facing a wonderful Belvedere on Cisterna d’Asti Hills, you will find a traditional environment immersed in nature, managed by the historic Gallino family with passion and love for wine, nature, and animals. They even make some high-quality hazelnut products.
Rich terroir of Roero
Roero is in between the plains of Astigiano and Carmagnola, on the left bank of Tanaro River. The formation of hills and drift brought various soil types to the land here. The clayey soil, along with an ideal microclimate, provides the best conditions here for viticulture and growing fruity grapes. Brachetto, Arneis, Barbera, and Nebbiolo are the main grape varietals grown here and used to produce their red, white, rose, sparkling, and dessert wines.
High-quality work at the winery
The winery focuses on producing the best wines with the best techniques. They make the best Roero DOCG wines and other hazelnut products along with it. The wines have a full-bodied, balanced taste with an amazing structure and aroma. The quality of the terroir and winemaking are rightly expressed by their wines. Visitors are always welcome at Filippo Gallino for a lovely time.
