Four Shades- Winery belonging to Extremely Hardworking Owners
The name of the Four Shades winery was inspired by a family photograph of Joke and Wilbert Borren and their two sons taken during a family holiday to Mexico. This family has a true passion for wine and have worked together for many years to work the vineyards and build their unique tasting toom. To being with the Borren family lived in the Netherlands and had no knowledge of viticulture. Through hard work and dedication, the family rejuvenated the existing vineyards of the winery and began successfully growing grapes over 7 years for other wine producers in their Naramata Beach vineyards.
Wines with Unique Character and Personality
In 2017, the Borrens decided to keep some of their harvest and produce their first vintage of Pinot Noir and Merlot. Following this, the winery used the 2018 harvest to add Chardonnay, Riesling and Rose to their portfolio of wines. The Borren family and their winery team at Four Shadows ensure that each variety of wine that they make has its own unique character and personality, just like each of the family members.
Award Winning Wines
After only a few years producing wines, Four Shadows has already won a number of awards.
Their most notable awards are the WineAlign National Awards of Canada Gold Award for the 2018 Riesling and Bronze Award for the 2017 Pinot Noir; and the British Columbia Lieutenant Governor’s Wine Awards 2019 Gold Award for the 2017 Pinot Noir, Silver Award for the 2018 Riesling, Silver Award for the 2017 Merlot and Bronze Award for the 2018 Chardonnay.
These wines should not be missed by all wine lovers across the globe.
