Dedicated Owners of the Furiosa Winery
The winemaking runs in the Furiosa family. The lingering scent of crushed grapes and the tendrils of the vine has held the family together as they moved from Italy to Canada to the United States. Their journey started in 2015 when they first started producing wines from their 30-year-old Dundee Estate.
Grapes grown in Dundee Hills’s oldest vineyards
The winery focuses on farming organic vineyards to produce quality products throughout the years. They nurture their vineyards through all four seasons. Furioso Vineyard is a 10-acre site with 30-year-old vines, a winery, and a new tasting room. The much-celebrated, sunny, south-facing slopes, formerly known as the much sought after Juliard Vineyard, are home to five blocks of Pinot Noir and one block of Chardonnay. The grapes from the two estate vineyards are fermented and barrel-aged in small lots to maximize the blending options and achieve the highest quality wines with unique characteristics.
The winemaker Dominique is, therefore, fond of saying, “I wish you to taste our vineyards, not our winery.”
A Unique place for Tasting Experience
The newly renovated Winery, tasting room, and barrel room complex reflects the aesthetic perspective of the founder, artist, Giorgio Furiosa. Among them, the tasting room is truly a unique space- seventy feet long, thirty feet deep, with fourteen-foot-high glass walls- offering an unobstructed view on four sides. This incredible design features a shared glass wall with the winery’s “crush pad”. This allows the visitors an up-close harvest experience from the warmth and safety of the tasting room.
