Tipchenitza Winery, a Boutique Winery in the Hilly Northwest of Bulgaria
Tipchenitza Winery is a small winery, located in the village of Tipchenitsa in the picturesque and hilly Northwest of Bulgaria. Located in Vratsa Province, it is the real home of the local grape variety – Vrachanski Misket. Tipchenitza specialises in making a variety of small-series boutique wines that are of high quality. The elegant wines are renowned for their crispy taste and fruity aromas. From the vineyards, one can get a stunning view of the Vrachanski Balkan Nature Park and the countryside surrounding Tipchenista. The winery conducts all of its wine-tasting events at Garafa Wine Shop in the centre of Sofia. Their wines have won numerous local and international awards in recent times.
Amazing Handcrafted Wines
Their vineyards are present in the hills right next to the village, located just a few kilometres away from their estate. The soil in the region is full of minerals and along with a temperate climate, makes the region suitable for vine cultivation and growing high-quality grapes. The workers carefully handpick the best grapes and take them to the winery for further processing. The winery has two wine series that have their own qualities. The Vratitza series wine is made using grapes organically grown in their own vineyards. In contrast, the Tochka series is produced by grapes selected by their technologists from vineyards all over Bulgaria. The main grape varieties used in their wines include Vrachanski Misket, Chardonnay, Rubin, Cabernet Sauvignon and Riesling. The best grapes go into the production of their award-winning red, white and rose wines.
