Gilbert Ruhlmann Wine Estate, at the Base of the Ortenbourg Castle Near the Haut-Koenigsberg
The Gilbert Ruhlmann wine estate is located in the heart of Alsace, present on the Wine Route, at the base of the Ortenbourg Castle near the Haut-Koenigsbourg. In 1958, Gilbert Ruhlmann started selling wines and began the business. After the development of the vineyards, the estate was passed onto his sons, Pascal and Guy, who continue the family tradition of making unique, fruity Alsace wines at their small farm. Gilbert moved to Scherwiller in 1962 after his marriage, and the winery was built in the 70s. First, only three grape varieties used to grow here, but by the 80s, 7 Alsatian grape varieties were growing, and their first Cremant d’Alsace wine was made.
