Classical Variety Grapes
The Hansson family has owned Hällåkra Vingård winery for five generations. Today, Hällåkra encompasses approximately 6.5 hectares of fertile land and has about 20,000 vines. Their oldest grapevines are primarily hybrid grapes that were developed from the classical varieties which were especially suited for a colder climate and a shorter growing season. The staff at Hällåkra Vingård have carefully allowed their vineyards to develop since 2003 according to the favorable conditions created here by nature. This has given their renowned wines their characteristic Scandinavian traits which are most prominently reflected in the wines’ color, aroma, and flavor.
Hällåkra produced its first vintage red wine in 2008 from the Rondo grape.
Pure fruit and marked acidity are distinct characteristics that add an enhancing Scandinavian contribution to the rich aromas and flavors of the wine world. Good, natural ingredients provided by nature’s kitchen in keeping with local growing conditions shape the core values of Hällåkra Vingård.
