Many Attractions around La Montina
The La Montina estate is located on the extreme northeastern edge of Franciacorta in Monticelli Brusati. It is near a giant morainic amphitheater where the roads end and the Valle Mugnina begins. The area has a rich history, beautiful landscape and is perfect for the cultivation of vineyards. It houses a 17th-century Villa Baiana that can host weddings and other events. There is an Enoteca along with the first Museum of Contemporary Art in the area. The first harvest was in 1987, and the vineyards were converted to organic in 2016.
Morainic Soils lead to Peculiar Grapes
Franciacorta is near Milan in the heart of Lombardy. The soil here has morainic origins that have enormous minerals and are fundamental for high-quality viticulture and winemaking. Different parts of the region have different soils, and therefore each area grows grapes peculiar to the place, which leads to unique, characterful wines. Chardonnay and Pinot Nero are the main white grape varieties grown here and used to make their famous white and sparkling wines.
Contemporary Art Museum
Apart from winemaking and hospitality, the estate is also known for its passion for art and refined culture. It hosts many exhibitions of local and international artists. The Museum brings to life other parts of the estate like the majestic rooms, barrels, cellars, and storage areas. Football club AC Milan is partners with the winery and chose the Franciacorta Extra Brut wine for the season. Visitors and wine lovers are welcome here all year long for a pleasant time with friends and family.
