M. Chapoutier winery

The M. Chapoutier winery and the estate are situated in the region of Pyrenees and Heathcote in the Australian winemaking region. Members of the Chapoutier family have been involved in winemaking since 1808 when they were of the first people to buy vines, shifting from being simple grape growers to making and trading in their own wines. Since then the spirit of pioneering in winemaking has always been instilled in the family.

The values of the winery and all who work there are based on the soil (pedology and geology), the climate (microclimate and vintage), and human talent (people and tradition) to produce only the highest quality wines

M. Chapoutier also provides itself on being audacious in embracing new horizons and being generous in winemaking practices. Heathcote wine is well known across Australia and adored by wine lovers across the globe, mainly for its production of excellent quality Shiraz. The Heathcote region is situated approximately 110 km north of the city of Melbourne and the terroir is made of ancient Cambrian soils that are red, deep, and retain water perfectly.

This type of terroir produces small but concentrated grapes that make rich, concentrated, and flavoursome wines. The M. Chapoutier winery is located in the heart of the city in an original 1860s building. The wines produced by the winery include the Ergo Sum Shiraz, the La Pleiade Shiraz (in partnership with Jasper Hill Winery), the Terlato & M. Chapoutier L-Block Shiraz, the Terlato & M. Chapoutier Lieu-dit-Malakoff Shiraz, the Terlato & M. Chapoutier S-Block Shiraz and the Tournon Lady’s Lane Vineyard Shiraz.
