e is a family wine company located in Canale in the center of the famous Roero region. The Costa family is at the helm of the estate, and the work is looked after by Giuseppe and Luca along with the experience of Mario. The winery is famous for its passion and tradition of winemaking since 1952. Now the winery is in the fourth generation and cultivates 20 hectares of vineyards for its amazing collection of wines. The value and the traditions of the family are evident in all the work done in the vineyards and the cellar.
The Rich Heritage of Winemaking
The family wants to express their rich heritage and the high quality of the Roero region. All the technology and machines used to focus on sustainability that helps preserve nature and their vines. 20 hectares of vineyards are spread between the Monta and Canale between hills and fortresses. Vines are planted in some of the best areas like Parere, Pecetto, Morinaldo, and Renesio Montorone. Nebbiolo, Viognier, Arneis, and Barbera are the main grapes grown here that are used to make their red, white, rose, and dessert wines.

Mario Costa produces 15 different types of wines ranging from the classic ones like Roero Arneis DOCG, Barbera d’Albo to more particular wines like the White Langhe DOC made using Viognier grapes. They make three lines of wines based on taste and aroma. Petals are traditional wines showing the pure grape varieties, Superior line focussing on excellence, and the Selections line, which includes in-depth research to attain high quality.
