Reilly’s Wines, a Family-Owned Boutique Winery Established in 1993
Reilly’s Wines is a family-owned winery creating boutique wines from their estate vineyards in the Clare Valley. They have been producing wines since 1993. Justin Ardill is the owner of the winery and uses traditional artisanal winemaking techniques to produce high-quality wines that reflect the unique characteristics of the region. In 1856, Hugh Reilly settled in Mintaro and set up his home, “Reilly’s Cottage,’ and the name of the winery followed. The winery also has an excellent Cellar Door and Restaurant to host its visitors and sell wines.
Wines made with minimumal intervention to preserve the natural taste of the fruits are the focus of Reilly’s Wines.
A Winery with Low Yields and High Quality
Justin started winemaking in 1994 at Reilly’s Cottage, along with his wife. In 2000, they set up the winery in Leasingham with modern machines and state-of-the-art technology for winemaking. More vineyards were purchased and planted, and premium fruits were bought from local producers. Their vineyards are located throughout in the Clare Valley. The region has a continental climate and red loamy soils that are perfect for the cultivation of vines. Rob Smyth, an expert viticulturist, manages the work in the vineyards and makes sure that there is a low yield of grapes but of very high quality. They grow grapes with an intense flavor and aroma. The wines are made with minimum intervention to preserve the natural taste of the fruits.
A Large Variety of Grapes at Reilly’s Wines
The main types of grapes that grow at Reilly’s Cottage are Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Riesling, Tempranillo, Mataro, Sauvignon Blanc, and Sangiovese. The best grapes go into the production of high-quality red, white, sparkling, and fortified wines.
