Shaw Wines began in 1998, when the family purchased an old wool-producing property, dating back to the mid-1800s.
The Purchase that Became Shaw Wines
Over three decades ago, the Shaw Family moved to Murrumbateman, New South Wales. In 1998, the family purchased an old wool-producing property, dating back to the mid-1800s. Olleyville, the wool mill, was stretched over an area of 700 acres, where the Shaw Family started cultivating grapes. Today, Graeme and Ann Shaw take care of the family-owned winery, along with their two children, Tanya and Michael. Later, Tanya’s husband also joined forces with the winemaking family. Shaw Wines has many corporate partners with strong business ties, such as the Australian War Memorial, the Canberra Wine House, and the Tradies.
The Winery Focusing on Riesling, Shiraz, Malbec, and Cabernet Sauvignon
Within the finest wine regions of Murrumbateman, Graeme and Ann cultivate a wide array of grapes, including Riesling, Semillon, and Merlot, together with top-class Malbec, Shiraz, and Cabernet Sauvignon. These vines, grown on 85 acres of vineyards, are used to produce top-notch Estate wines, comprising red, white, and rosé wines, along with delicious dessert and sparkling wines, all aged and refined in wooden barrels and casks.
The winery consists of a well-furnished room, dedicated to group or private wine tasting experiences. Shaw Wines also has a nicely equipped wine lounge where guests can relax and comfortably taste their wines at a relaxed pace.
