Tenuta Luisa was established in 1907 by Francesco Luisa in five hectares of land in Mariano del Friuli in the Northeast of Italy. Over the past century, four generations of the Luisa family have tirelessly worked to achieve the reputation and recognition the winery currently boasts. In the present day, the fourth generation Luisa brothers Davide and Michele, an agronomist and an enologist, manages every aspect of the winery together. Tenuta Luisa believes that quality wine begin in the vineyard and are perfected in the winery. Their studies have led to develop this inherited knowledge to the highest standards throughout their entire production.
Following the Tradition of Friuli Winemaking
Davide manages the vineyards and here they grow Ribolla Gialla, Friulano, Refosco, Verduzzo, Pinot Grigio, Pinot Bianco, Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Traminer Aromatico, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Nero grapes. The microclimate of the region ideal for grape cultivation the winery has taken its full advantage. They make red, white and rose wines using their own. Tenuta Luisa has special dessert and sparkling wines as well. The winemaking process follows the Isonzo del Friuli traditions and they are proud of their heritage. The cellar was modernized in the eighties and over the years have always been keen on implementing modern technologies to ensure the best quality of wines. Various wines at Tenuta Luisa have won numerous awards over the years.
