A Perfect Getaway Destination with Buffet & Elegant Ambience
Christ Wine Estate is stationed in the municipality of Jedlersdorf, north of the Danube River, in an Austrian capital, Wein. The winery owns a centuries-old Weiner Heuriger, expressing traditional essence, made of natural stone, wood, and glass. There is a well-furnished and stylish vinotheque built for wine tasting activities within the building and is attached to winter gardens.
A Story of an Ancient Winemaking Family
Boasting four centuries of winemaking tradition, the Christ family’s ancestors have always contributed their passion, commitment, and hard work in delivering some of the best Austrian wines. Today, Rainer Christ is handling all the operations of the wine estate. He acquired the winery in 2004, and since then, he has introduced various advanced technologies to the winery while keeping the historical traditions alive. The year 2005 was dedicated to the cellar renovation, which today is equipped with wooden barrels, barriques, and stainless steel tanks. In 2014, he bought the oldest vineyard plot in Vienna.
Eighty Percent White & Twenty Percent Red
The estate-owned vineyards cover an area of around 20 hectares with more white grape varieties. Their whites include Grüner Veltliner, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Riesling, and Gelber Muskatelle, whereas reds comprise Zweigelt, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah. Some of the grape cultivate plots are ancient. The organic operations and sheer dedication result in crafting high-end vintages under DAC status.
