In the heart of Rheingau, a GbR winery, Weingut Kreis, is located in the Hallgarten district of Oestrich-Winkel, overlooking the scenic countryside and vineyards. The winery location offers ideal circular hiking trails in the forest and vineyards. The company is well known for its delicious red, white, rose, and sparkling wines, made within the finest Rhine appellation.

Weingut Kreis GbR is Completely a Family-Run Winery

Started in 1969 by Theo and Katharina Kreis, Weingut Kreis is today handled by the second and third generation of the winemaking family. The estate runs under a civil law partnership, Gesellschaft bürgerlichen Rechts (GbR), an association of individuals united in achieving a common goal. Josef Kreis, the chief winemaker, his wife, Ulrike, and son Jochen look after the winery. After marrying Sarah in 2012, Jochen expanded the winery and introduced the latest technology in the cellar. Today, Josef works in the cellar, Jochen manages the vineyards, and Ulrike and Sarah take care of the sales and events department.

80% Riesling and 20% Burgundy Varieties

The Kreis family works with harmony and peace in the vineyards, where they grow various grapes. The 13 hectares of land is divided into two parts where the winery team cultivates top-class Riesling, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Blanc. All the viticulture practices carried out in the vineyards are manual and eco-friendly. All the estate-owned vineyards are located in different locations of Hallgarten, namely Hallgartener Schönhell, Hallgartener Jungfer, Hallgartener Hendelberg, Würzgarten, etc.
