Vinaguarena Cellar – a Winery making Excellent Toro Wines

Vinaguarena Cellar is a winery situated in the reigon of Castilla Y Leon which is famous for its excellent Toro wines.The winery has a lot of historical prestige as well, many writers such as Gongora and Quevedo made references to Vinaguarena Cellar wine in their works. The ancient kings of Spain used to consume Toro wine as the region was a center of politics and power in the past.
The vineyards of Vinaguarena Cellar are ancient, some date back to the last century and still produce excellent wines.

The Winery with 22 Hectares of Vineyards in Castilla y Leon

The Toro region has an extreme continental climate which is quite suitable for vine plantations. The soil has a lot of sand and clay, which assists vine growth. There are a lot of small slopes and hills for good exposure. The Hornija and Duero Rivers flow through this region. Winters are extremely harsh and cold while the summers are a bit short and not very hot. Almost 400 mm of rainfall and vast temperature differences between day and night lead to the proper growth of grapes.
There are almost 22 hectares of land for the growth of vines at Vinaguarena Cellar. The Vinaguerena Winery uses the latest technologies and winemaking passion for production of their high quality wines.

Tinta de Toro, Another Local Name for Tempranillo

Tinta de Toro, is the local name for famous Tempranillo grapes, and Garnacha, are the grapes grown for Vinaguarena Cellar’s red wines. Verdejo is grown for the production of their white wine. The wines made using the native Tinta De Toro are their most famous, and people all over the world admire these wines. The best grapes are carefully selected, and after harvesting, aging is done in French oak barrels to give the characteristic taste and fragrance to the wine.
