Hi, I am Katarina, a Swedish gal in Italy. I have lived in Florence, Italy for about 20 years. From Ystad in southern Sweden, where I actually was fascinated by wine already in the 1980s and 1990s, I landed in Florence about 20 years ago to do a Ph.D. in history at the EUs research institute (European University Institute). From a background in academia, have moved on to other professional areas. Today, I am a wine writer, sommelier FISAR, wine judge, content strategist, and translator mainly for wineries. I had a weekly live stream with smaller producers as guests from 2015 to 2021. My articles have been published in The Vintner Project, Somm TV Magazine, Wine Table.se, Glass of Bubbly, Intralcio.it, among others. Read more at my website Grapevine Adventures. I have an in-depth knowledge of the Italian wine scene, especially lesser-known areas, and grapes, thanks to extensive travel over Italy to learn more about different wine areas. I live in Tuscany but I also have in-depth knowledge of wine in other regions such as Basilicata, Campania, Calabria, Le Marche, Veneto, and Puglia. This helps me to better guide you and give tips about the area you would like to visit. I offer exclusive private tours to wineries in Tuscany. We can select the wineries according to your interest and taste. Generally, I try to give you insight into a "different" Italy with a focus on native grapes, smaller wineries, and/or lesser-known wine areas.
