As a British wine & food travel writer, sommelier, licensed tour leader, outoor guide and long-term resident of Italy I'm on something of a mission to share the wonderful wines of Emilia Romagna and the stories behind them!

From east to west of the region, our wines tend to get overlooked in favour of those from other more famous wine regions around the country. Here in Emilia Romagna there really is an incredible variety of still, sparkling, white and red wines to discover, not to mention the growing selection of rosés, that pair perfectly with Emilia Romagna's celebrated food. We have some seriously amazing dessert wines too!

If time is short, we can explore the best the region has to offer at some historic and atmospheric wine bars in the centre of Bologna, otherwise with an out-of-town trip you can get to know the wines where they originate, visiting the wineries and walking through the vines.
