Enjoy a Food and Wine Experience at Pereira de Melo, a family winery in the Dão region.
This family project has in its genesis the production of wines of detail, with great character, elegance, and longevity, created by true artisans. Located in Santa Comba Dão, surrounded by the Estrela, Caramulo, Buçaco, and Lousã mountain ranges and close to the Aguieira dam reservoir, at the mouth of the river, amidst breathtaking landscapes, Pereira de Melo Wines, offers guided vineyard and cellar tours and wine tasting of highly complex and exclusive wines.
A member of the Pereira de Melo family will welcome you for a guided tour of the vineyard, explaining the genesis of the extraordinary terroir and the meticulous work that is carried out with total respect for nature. In the winery and cellar, you'll learn about the winemaking process, which leads to the creation of great wines produced in limited editions.
In this gastronomic experience, you will indulge in a variety of Portuguese delights: Folar Beirão, millet bread, sweet Santa Columba bread, olive oil, mixed olives, mixed fresh cheese, sheep buttery cheese, cured mixed cheese, spicy cured cheese, shrimp or codfish salad, blood sausage and Beira chorizo.
Vegetarians do not stay out, we offer as an alternative quinoa salad. To end on a sweet note, enjoy some sheep's curd with pumpkin jam, and a pastry with traditional portuguese "ovos moles".
Taking place in the vineyards (tractor trailer, picnic or table) , includes a tasting in the lounge, porch or garden, on arrival after the visit, of five wines with a 37.5 ml serving to choose the wine for the meal (wines sold separately).
