Welcome to Clos La Petite Croix, a charming winery located in the Lalande-de-Pomerol region of Bordeaux, France. As the smallest winery in the country, covering just 0.38 hectares, this hidden gem is lovingly tended by Pierre Brunot, who treats the vineyard like a cherished garden. Established in 1956 by his grandfather, Pierre grew up spending summers at Clos La Petite Croix, where he developed a passion for viticulture and honed his winemaking skills. Collaborating with renowned oenologist Emmanuel Villega, their wines have garnered acclaim for their quality and character.
Nestled on the right bank of the Garonne River, Clos La Petite Croix plays a vital role in supporting new growers in the Lalande-de-Pomerol AOC. The vineyard's unique soil, a blend of clay, gravel, and sand from the Garonne, combined with the favorable microclimate created by the nearby Dordogne River, is ideal for cultivating grapes. The estate primarily produces Merlot and Cabernet Franc, resulting in the celebrated Clos La Petite Croix Lalande de Pomerol vintage. Recently, Pierre opened a tasting room, inviting wine enthusiasts to experience the beauty and craftsmanship of this well-preserved estate. The wines, crafted in small batches, reflect a home-grown essence while maintaining international standards of quality.
