A visit to the historic San Fabiano Estate owned by the Counts Borghini Baldovinetti de' Bacci is a unique experience that allows visitors to retrace the history of this noble family, which has always been linked to the winemaking tradition of the Arezzo area. The earliest document proving the existence of vineyards on the property dates back to 1452, dealing with the sale of a vineyard by Francesco de' Bacci in order to finance the frescoes in the family chapel by painter Piero della Francesca, The Legend of the True Cross in the Church of San Francesco in Arezzo. The tour leads to the discovery of the vineyards and winery that, located about 1 km from the circle of Arezzo's Medici walls, give birth to the fine wines of San Fabiano. The visit includes tour of the winery + tasting of 3 wines + tasting of extravergin olive oil + selection of cured meat from Azienda Villani in our "Cantinetta del Conte."

The grapes of summer 2015 are a great vintage to be enjoyed today of this wonderful Tuscan vineyard tucked away in Arezzo. It was a very hot summer, one to be remembered by many during our visit.

The beat wine tasting experience I have ever had. Claudia is first class and treated us like family. The owner of the winery also made an appearance. Incredible!

Wonderful host and wine

Really enjoyed our personal tour with Claudia. Great history on the winery, delicious wine paired with local cheese and then their own olive oil. Just 5 minutes outside of town of Arezzo.
