Visit Sessanea, an artisan winery that blends traditional and modern techniques to produce organic wines. A knowledgeable staff member will guide you through the picturesque vineyards, showcasing the unique grape varieties cultivated on-site. You'll also have the chance to tour the cellar, where wines age in French oak barrels, adding depth and character to each bottle.
As you step into the inviting wine tasting room, you'll be treated to a selection of their exquisite wines, all while taking in the stunning views of the surrounding countryside. Wine tastings are available from Monday to Thursday, between 11:00 AM and 6:00 PM. On weekends, tastings are held at Sessanea – Taste and Shop, located at Via Cavour 20 in Monastero Bormida.

A few weeks ago we visited the vineyard for a tasting and the experience was amazing. Franco is a perfect host and seemed happy to share his knowledge and passion for his wines, which are excellent. The Italian bites were also delicious. And when drinking wine after this visit, we always thought of Franco's explanation. We would certainly recommend paying Sessanea a visit (and bring some bottles home with you)!

We visited the Vineyard briefly when passing by with the car and bought a handfull of bottles. Excellent wine and very good service and a nice chat about wines. Visit and buy wine if you are in the neighbourhood. This wine in particular was our favorite 👏🥂

Really great. We arrived at the winery and the winemaker didn't really have time because he was expecting a large group to the tasting. We came unannounced. He still took the time and we had a very nice wine tasting with great wine at reasonable prices!!!!!! Best wine of our vacation. Franco and his wife are very very nice

Best wine experience

Our host was an absolute wealth of knowledge and all of his wines were arguably the best we’ve tried in Italy. His winery was casual and welcoming like visiting a friends home and he was so generous with his wine and snacks and we purchased a few cases to be shipped home. It might seem out of the way for some people but it should be a priority

We had tasted the Sessanea wine the night before in a restaurant, and we were pleasantly surprised. Then the next day, at the bend in the road, we came across Franco's cellar, who unexpectedly organized an incredible tasting for us! Franco's passion for his production is felt through his absolutely magnificent wines. And all accompanied by a platter of salamis and cheeses prepared by his wife, an extremely appreciated surprise! Here the wine is excellent, and tells the story of an encounter, of a shared moment that will be remembered each time we taste a bottle of Sessanea! See you next time, this time with a bottle of Valaisan wine to swap 😉 Roxane and Alexandre
