After two years stuck in this pandemic, isolation and travel restrictions, what we all wish for is to go back to enjoying those events that were part of our everyday lives before Covid-19 hit us. That is why many wine festivals in Italy are going to be held again and can’t wait to open their doors to all those wine enthusiasts that enjoy going to food and wine festivals. This will be the best occasion for people to directly meet with winemakers again and for winemakers to present their wines to the public and to other professionals that work in the wine sector.

Montepulciano - Bravio delle Botti 2024

Bravio delle Botti is an annual wine barrel race held in Montepulciano. Its first edition dates back to 1974. All of the 8 contrade, the Medieval neighborhoods of Montepulciano, compete in the race and representatives of each contrada have to roll 80 kg wine barrels up the steep and narrow streets of the historic centre of Montepulciano. Bravio delle Botti is a unique event you can experience this summer in Italy.

The Bardolino Wine Festival is an annual event which takes place in the municipality of Bardolino, Italy, over the beautiful Lake Garda and is one of the biggest wine festivals in Italy. The festival is held every year on the first weekend of October, and it attracts a lot of visitors. The festival features a number of events such as wine tastings, colourful food fair, live music concerts, open air cinema screenings and even fireworks. Bordalino’s rich tradition dates back to 1929 therefore it has already celebrated 91 festivals so far. The dominant grape varieties presented at the festival are: Rondinella, Molinara, Corvina Veronese and Negrara, and fruity variants of rosé and red wine prevail. This event is a great opportunity to immerse yourself in Italian wine culture and discover yet unknown tastes.

L'eroica Gaiole In Chianti

L'Eroica - Gaiole in Chianti

L'Eroica, before being a wine festival, is actually a cycling race that takes place in the gorgeous village of Gaiole in Chianti. The first edition of L'Eroica took place in 1997, and since then it has been open to every 'heroic' cyclist that wanted to take part in the race. During the ride, you get to bike through incredible landscapes and make delicious stops for some Tuscan food and wine. At the end of the race, there will be the real wine festival in Gaiole in Chianti.

FIVI Wine Market

Where? Piacenza’s Exhibition Centre, Piacenza, Italy

There are more than 600 exhibits at this eleventh edition of the FIVI Wine Market, one of the most important wine events in Italy. The Italian Federation of Independent winegrowers (Federazione Italiana Vignaioli Indipendenti) oversees the event and will be there to answer questions about wine growers and businesses from Italy. The federation represents the winemakers that are entirely responsible for the process, starting from vinification to bottling. ​​With a unique passion, these winemakers have the ancestral knowledge and experience of the wine culture and are eager to reveal their products to you. Moreover, you will be able to purchase these wines only available at this event.
