Domaine Arpents Du Soleil is close to Saint Pierre sur Dives in the heart of Normandy. The southfacing hill with extraordinary soil along with a dry, hot microclimate is the reason for the success of the vineyards in this area. Arpents du Soleil can be translated as “Acres of Sun”.

Vineyards flourished here since Medieval times until the end of the 18th century. This was partially due to the understanding of the elders about the terrain exposed naturally towards the the sun. The best climate and soil factors are responsible for Domaine Arpents Du Soleil and its revival of the vineyard in 1995. Gerard Samson, a passionate winemaker with both practical and theoretical training, traveled around Europe and France to learn about the best terroir secrets.

Winemaking at Domaine Arpents Du Soleil began with a 1.5 hectare vineyard and the first production was released in 1998. A popular wine guide selected this wine instantly and created energy around the winery. The vineyards grew to 3 ha in 1998, 5 in 2010 and is currently 6.6 ha since 2015. Domaine Arpents du Soleil produce both red and white wines using Pinot Noir, Auxerrois, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Melon, Müller-Thurgau, Sauvignon Gris.
