Discover Landsuá, a family-run high-altitude winery in the heart of the Valles Cruceños, where passion, terroir, and tradition come together.
Family project with the flavor of Bolivian wine
Located in the heart of the Valles Cruceños, just 8 km from the mystical town of Samaipata and 110 km from the city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bodegas Landsuá is a first-generation winery born from the enthusiasm and vision of a couple from Santa Cruz with a strong passion for wine. Together with their seven children, they have consolidated a young project with a solid foundation in viticulture and oenology, supported from the beginning by international experts. The name Landsuá comes from the combination of the surnames of its founders: Landivar and Suárez.
A unique terroir in the valleys of Santa Cruz
Located in a privileged setting at the entrance to the Andes Mountains, Bodegas Landsuá sits atop a canyon surrounded by the Mama Pascuala River, at an altitude between 1,650 and 1,850 meters above sea level . This microclimate, influenced by dry southern winds and cool currents from the Amboró National Park, allows for slow and balanced grape ripening. The reddish, stony soils enrich the roots, lending intensity and character to each vine.
The terraced vineyards cover 25 hectares and represent an ideal viticultural model for the production of high-altitude wines , renowned for their freshness, elegance, and aromatic concentration. Landsuá cultivates a wide variety of grape varieties, including Tannat, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Pinot Noir, Pedro Ximénez, and Albariño , among others, which allows for an authentic expression of the terroir and gives rise to wines with their own unique personality.
3 lines, one identity
The winemaking approach of Bodegas Landsuá is expressed through three lines of wines, whose names evoke the history, the strength of the territory, and the mysticism of the region:
- Parras del Fuerte : 100% varietal wines that pay homage to the El Fuerte de Samaipata archaeological site, a place charged with ancestral energy. The line seeks to capture that symbolic essence in each bottle.
- Castilla : Blended wines inspired by the place where Samaipata was originally founded during the colonial era. This line celebrates the fusion of cultures and the valley's historical heritage.
- Abra del Toro (coming soon): Reserva wines aged for 24 months in French and American oak barrels, and 6 months in the bottle. The name refers to an ancient route used by explorers to cross the Andes into eastern Bolivia, a symbol of adventure and connection with wild nature.
The grapes used in these lines are international strains carefully cultivated in the high-altitude vineyards of Landsuá, and its wines have been awarded gold medals in competitions such as Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, Mondial des Vins Extrêmes (Italy), BACCHUS (Spain) and the Brazil Wine Challenge , positioning the winery as an emerging benchmark for quality Bolivian wine.
