Domaine Terra Di Catoni Winery Where Grapes and Olives Grow in Harmony

With the 24-hectare estate of vineyards and olive groves, Terra di Catoni faces the Tyrrhenian sea and the Tuscan archipelago. Cap Corse is a very narrow mountainous peninsula jutting out into the sea. This extremely maritime land is therefore subject to sea breezes which preserve the vines from the usual miasmas and diseases. This ensures that the grapes are of an exceptional phytosanitary quality. Grapes of Vermentinu, Sauvignon, Sciacarellu, Genovese and Viognier are cultivated here to produce the delicious lines of red, white, rosé, sparkling and dessert wines.

The winery has been owned by the Catoni family for over 200 years. For the Catonis, wine is a question of heritage, for an ancestor successfully tried more than a century ago to establish a wine growing culture of Muscat on the property.

The house and the surrounding park date back to 1812. Following the generation of Catonis who started the viticulture, the successive generations cultivated the land and enlarged the family home

In current time, Christian Mons-Catoni has set out to give a revival to this domain. Fifteen years ago, Christian began a more innovative culture with new grape varieties and new methods to give a second youth to this winery which today is reborn with original and sometimes surprising wines that retain the strong personality of the region’s mountainous landscapes that fall into the sea, its villages grouped on rocky headlands, its austere architecture and its energetic inhabitants.
