Reviving the Rich Heritage of Azerbaijani Wines
The Story of Tovuz Baltiya
Founded in 1886 by German brothers Karl Marcus and Soller, Tovuz Baltiya Winery has a rich history in the heart of Azerbaijan's Ganja region. With a dedicated team of 27, they began cultivating local grapes and fruits, establishing a winemaking tradition that continues today. Located in Govlar, Tovuz, Tovuz-Baltiya LTD was reestablished in 1989 and is now part of the Naigin KO Corporation, focusing on grape cultivation and wine production. The winery employs skilled specialists and technologists, ensuring high-quality output.
Introducing the Tovuz Brand
Strategically positioned along the new Silk Road, Tovuz is one of the oldest winemaking regions in the world. The German settlers of the 19th century revitalized local winemaking, and Tovuz wines and cognacs gained acclaim throughout the Soviet Union. Today, Tovuz-Baltiya continues this legacy with a cognac factory that produces premium beverages aged between 25 to 50 years, crafted using French technology and adhering to European standards.
Vineyards of Tovuz
Spanning 65 hectares, the vineyards of Tovuz Baltiya grow a variety of grapes, including Rkatsiteli, Gold Riesling, Bayan Shira, Ugni Blanc, Chardonnay, and Cabernet Sauvignon. These include both indigenous and technical grape varieties imported from France. The winery is also recognized for its unique pomegranate and quince wines, which not only offer delightful flavors but also boast numerous health benefits. Tovuz Baltiya's products have received multiple awards at international competitions and are exported to countries such as Russia, Ukraine, Spain, Norway, Finland, Japan, Latvia, Thailand, and Canada.
