Join us for the Icon Tasting Experience at Best’s Wines, where you can sample three exquisite wines from our renowned Icon Range. Established in 1866, our Cellar Door serves as the heart of Best’s Wines, offering a unique glimpse into our rich history. The tasting room, crafted from old red gum slabs, is located in the original stables and features vintage winery equipment, historical maps, and even Henry Best’s original journal from 1866.

As part of your visit, you can take a self-guided tour of our original cellars, hand-dug by miners in the 1860s, and view the historic Nursery Block plantings. These elements represent a significant chapter in Australian wine history, making your experience not just about tasting wine, but also about connecting with the past.

We visited today…. And had an absolute delightful time…. Karina was fantastic - knowledgeable, fun and engaging… and along with the great wines and the cheeses … we had two great hours just grazing and appreciating a true iconic vineyard…. Without a doubt - if in the area - VISIT!

We visited Best's Winery in Great Western today. We really enjoyed the self guided tour and then had a tasting with some delicious food. It was fantastic. Jess & her team were awesome. Highly recommended for anyone who likes wine, history & great hospitality.

Absolutely fabulous old winery, worth a visit anytime! Beautiful original sheds, vines & delicious wines. Free self guided underground tour & complimentary fortified tastings. We enjoy visiting and taking friends there, never fails to intrigue & educate & delight!! 5 stars, everytime. Rustic, historic and genuine✨️

Very good wines and detailed explanations. Very kind staff. Very interesting visit to the cellar. You can also taste some Tuscan oil. The tasting is free.
