Maturano is a rare white grape variety exclusively grown at Cantina I Ciacca in Picinisco, Val Comino, Lazio. This ancient grape is unique to the region, with DNA analysis confirming it has no known relatives worldwide. Our vineyard is Certified Organic, a testament to its rich history; it was an ancient vineyard that lay dormant for over 50 years but has been nurtured by our family for at least 500 years!
Since 2012, renowned consultant oenologist Alberto Antonini, recognized as one of the top five winemakers globally by Decanter magazine in 2015, has played a vital role in developing our vineyard and Cantina.

Home to the Di Ciacca family for over 500 years, abandoned over 50 years ago - even removed from the map! I Ciacca has recently been restored and is dedicated to maintaining and sharing the tradition of hospitality, food, wine, and culture of Picinisco and Val di Comino. Obviously sustainable before is now, and will continue to be in the future.
