Discover the terroir of Domaine de Rocheville, its geological peculiarities and its gourmet specialties through a fine meal in a troglodyte and historical cellar, followed by a detailed visit of the cellars and a commented tasting of 4 wines.
This tour will begin with a tasty lunch in the unique and historic setting of their partner L’Hélianthe, a restaurant next to their estate in Parnay. You will discover one of the richness of the region, the troglodytism, and an inventive cuisine around traditional products : Chef Arnaud Montais will offer you to choose on his seasonal menu a first course, a main course and a dessert, that will be paired with 3 glasses of wine from their production (a Crémant de Loire as an aperitif, then a Saumur Blanc and a Saumur Champigny).
After lunch you will reach the Domaine de Rocheville on the heights of Parnay (located at 5 minutes by car) passing in front of the art village, also troglodytic, of Turquant. At the Domaine you will be welcomed for a detailed tour of their facilities (wine storehouse, barrel and tun maturing storehouses) and explanations on their winemaking secrets. Moreover you will enjoy a visit to the troglodyte wineries below the cellar with explanations on troglodytism and life in the area until the end of the 1950s.
You will finish your visit with a tasting of 4 of their vintages on the panoramic terrace, weather permitting, or at the corner of the fireplace in winter.
