The Hunter Valley is Australia's oldest wine region, with its first vines planted in the 1820s. Today, over 150 wineries produce a diverse array of exceptional wines that reflect the unique terroir of the area. The Tulloch family, one of the founding families of Hunter Valley wines, began their legacy in 1895 when John Younie (J.Y.) Tulloch accepted a 43-acre property in Pokolbin as payment for a debt. He quickly fell in love with the land and its five acres of neglected Shiraz vines, marking the start of his winemaking journey.

At Tulloch Wines, you can experience the rich history of the Hunter Valley through a curated tasting of six wines that showcase the region's 'Hunter Heroes'—the iconic grape varieties of Semillon, Shiraz, Chardonnay, and Verdelho. This tasting includes a special wine from our museum cellar, allowing you to compare an aged Hunter wine with our current releases.

This wine tasting experience is perfect for history enthusiasts and includes:

  • Private seated tasting led by a knowledgeable Wine Ambassador
  • Five current release Tulloch wines
  • One museum-aged Tulloch wine
  • Generous Local Cheese & Charcuterie Board
  • Individual tasting mat for guidance
  • Take-home wine experience guide with additional information

An excellent and friendly time at Tulloch Wines. The team is very attentive, without forcing the sale, it feels good! I went there with friends and if I take the time to write a review it is because it is really worth stopping, by the setting and the atmosphere that reigns there. My favorite wine is the G4 Chardonnay and I have a little weakness for their Verscato. Cheers or rather Santé🥂

Definitely one of the best wineries we had the pleasure of visiting. Highly recommend !! I'm sure they are all amazing staff but Bobby was absolutely exceptional, so knowledgeable and highly passionate. He took his time in describing each wine we tried which he explained all the flavours, climates the grapes were grown and the juicing process. Made it so interesting and exciting to know each story behind the bottle. Thankyou Bobby for making it so enjoyable and easy to choose. We definitely will be back for your amazing service and the most tastiest wine we have experienced.

We absolutely loved our tasting experience. They were very generous and gave us more than the allotted 6 wines and we paid a few extra dollars to taste some aged museum collection wines and they were amazing - i recommend doing this to get a sense of how the wines will age. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. They allowed our dog to join us on the verandah. Definitely one of the highlights from the Hunter Valley.
