Very interesting large house of rich Greek wine producers in Melnik. To reach it you have to go up a steep path and climb several steps. You can visit the entire house on several levels and from the highest one you can access a terrace that offers a splendid view. Of particular importance are the cellars located in fairly long tunnels. Do not miss the wine tasting at the end of the visit.

Great museum house, really beautiful. The building belonged to a rich family from Sofia. The wine cellar carved into the rock is also impressive. We didn't do any wine tasting.

The mansion was built in 1754 in Meleniko, Bulgaria. It is the largest Renaissance house in the Balkans. A mix of Venetian and Ottoman architecture. In the basement there is a wine cellar dug into the rock. 300 tons of wine. It belonged to the well-known merchant Manolis Kordopoulos. He sold wines all over Europe, mainly in Venice and Paris. Wine was always present on the tables of the Bulgarian Khans, Boyars, Venetian Doges, French Dukes, Austrian barons and lords.

The Kordopul House is the largest preserved Renaissance house in the Balkan Peninsula. Its history is interesting to see and read. However, don’t be fooled into buying wine from its cellar. You can do much better on the streets of Melnik.

Very interesting tourist spot! There are few houses from this period in Bulgaria so well preserved and open to tourists. I was very impressed by the wine cellar. All the architecture and furniture are unique.
