When Marc Gouze inherited the property in 1958, he modernized the cellars and planted vines to reach the current surface area of 9 ha. The Terroir of Château Bonneau Gouze The vineyards have clay-limestone uplands, clayey coasts, and sandy-clay soils. Château Bonneau Gouze grows 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. The age of the vineyards are 35-40 years, which allows the vine to produce grapes with great concentration. Winemaking takes place in concrete and stainless steel vats.
