When Marc Gouze inherited the property in 1958, he modernized the cellars and planted vines to reach the current surface area of 9 ha. The Terroir of Château Bonneau Gouze The vineyards have clay-limestone uplands, clayey coasts, and sandy-clay soils. Château Bonneau Gouze grows 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc.
