At Champagne Paul Berthelot, we are dedicated artisans, viticulturists, winemakers, and owners committed to crafting exceptional cuvées. Our focus is on creating wines that are rare, subtle, powerful, and elegant.
We honor the traditional techniques of our founder while embracing modern advancements. Our vineyard practices remain true to the methods of the first generation. We carefully separate the must based on terroir and grape variety, selecting only the finest grapes during harvest. Our cuvées are crafted exclusively from the first juice of the best grapes, and we allow our Champagnes to age for a minimum of four years.
Year after year, we strive for consistency across all our Champagnes. We cultivate the same crus and terroirs for our cuvées. When conditions permit, we harvest more grapes than needed, allowing us to focus solely on the highest quality wines. We prioritize soil health, letting it breathe and regenerate, and when we remove old vines, we allow the land to rest for at least a year before planting new ones.
Our commitment to quality is evident in our cuvées, such as the 100% Meunier Blanc de Noir, crafted from our top three Premier Cru parcels. We only produce wines from the best harvest years, ensuring that each cuvée reflects the heart of our vineyard.
Champagne Paul Berthelot is renowned for the quality of our Champagnes. We are always in pursuit of the finest wines, focusing exclusively on cuvées with distinct identities, including Grand Cru and Premier Cru selections that we create with passion and innovation.
Since 2012, our vineyards have been certified HVE (High Environmental Value). This commitment to sustainable practices is essential for our low yields. We maintain high standards, respecting the soil through meticulous cultivation and adhering to traditional winemaking techniques.
Our HVE certification is built on four key themes:
• Biodiversity,
• Phytosanitary strategy,
• Fertilization management,
• Water resource management.
